The Lotus, also known as nobleness of flowers from the perspective of its cultural meaning. In some cultures, the lotus flower is a symbol of purity, enlightenment, rebirth and regeneration. The lotus flower is revered for its ability to rise from the dirty, murky waters to bloom into a beautiful pure flower, only to exist for a brief moment before it too withers and returns to the mud.

Inspired by the lotus-shaped candles commonly used for temple offerings, this Lotus Candle Holder is designed in 3 separate parts, with each layer unfolding. The platter in blue glaze would serve just as well as a shallow pond for an Ikebana arrangement.
